Show Season in the Books!
The fall show season has wrapped up with a trip to the NAILE in Louisville. Our only entry was 1607, pictured above. We were proud of his performance, as he finished 3rd in class. “Bill” is an 88X x T137 son, owned with Empty Pockets Herefords. 1/2 brothers will sell in February 2016 at the 4th Annual ProfitaBull sale!
Sale-A-Bration was truly a day of celebration as we welcomed over 300 friends and guests to the farm to join in our celebrating 150 years of One Farm –One Family. TN Commissioner of Agriculture Julius Johnson and Assistant Commissioner Ed Harlan were on hand to present the family with the official 150 year Century Farm sign. State Rep Jimmy Eldridge presented an official state proclamation recognizing the occasion.
A steady rain did not dampen enthusiasm as buyers from seven states competed for the female offering. Hoffman Herefords from Thedford, NE offered the highest bid of $15,000 for Lot 10, WF H 109 Countrygirl 989 1570 ET. This fancy daughter of H W4 Pure Country 0109 was bred 3/27 to H H Perfect Timing 0150. Fifty female lots grossed $250,050 for an average of $5001 per lot. Fall pairs averaged $6210 while spring pairs with small calves averaged $3550. Thirteen bred heifers averaged $4612 and 9 open heifers averaged $3800.
